Education & AI Policy Researcher

About the role

We are seeking a Policy Researcher to support a regional initiative that sits at the intersection of education, technology and artificial intelligence across the MENA region. The role is applied‑research focused, requiring the ability to turn data and policy analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for program teams and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Research national policies, strategies, regulations and government initiatives related to education, AI, digital transformation and teacher development.
• Map key government entities, ministries, education authorities, regulators, universities and other relevant institutions.
• Identify policy developments, opportunities, constraints and potential risks that affect AI adoption in education.
• Prepare concise briefing notes and regular updates on policy and regulatory changes.
• Develop recommendations for government and institutional engagement and support long‑term sustainability pathways.

Required profile

• Experience in public policy, education policy, government affairs, international development or policy research.
• Strong research and analytical skills, especially in interpreting government strategies, policies and regulatory frameworks.
• Good understanding of government and institutional ecosystems in the MENA region.
• Ability to translate complex research into clear recommendations for non‑policy audiences.
• Professional fluency in English; Arabic is strongly preferred.
