EHS Lead Africa OA & Egypt

About the role

As the EHS Lead for the Africa Operating Area and Egypt, you will support Otis’s field operations in delivering safe and environmentally compliant elevator services across the region. Reporting to the Director of EH&S, you will partner with operations teams to identify hazards, implement policies, and drive a risk‑focused culture while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Reinforce EH&S objectives and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
• Lead and monitor EHS targets for all job disciplines within the operating area.
• Plan, execute and follow‑up EMEA safety audits, field safety assessments and other compliance engagements.
• Integrate EHS performance metrics into branch operations and provide functional support for continuous improvement.
• Maintain and update the operating‑area EHS Management System to meet local, regional and corporate regulations.
• Collect, analyse and distribute leading and lagging safety indicators and analytics.
• Coordinate hazardous, regulated and solid waste procedures and approvals.
• Travel to field locations (50‑70% of the time) to provide on‑site EHS support.

Required profile

• Degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Management or related field, or equivalent elevator field/operations experience.
• Minimum 8 years of technical elevator experience.
• Strong knowledge of EHS management systems, policies and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, strategic planning and collaboration abilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
