Electrical & Control Design Engineer – Water & Wastewater (Remote, Egypt)

About the role

SEICA is expanding its remote engineering team and seeks a mid‑level Electrical & Control Design Engineer to support UK water and wastewater projects from Egypt. You will translate senior engineers' design intent into accurate, coordinated, issue‑ready drawings and calculations for treatment works, pumping stations, lift stations and networks.

Key responsibilities

• Produce LV electrical designs including single‑line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, block cable diagrams and instrument/telemetry schedules.
• Carry out and verify electrical calculations such as cable sizing, voltage drop, load schedules, fault level, discrimination, earthing and lightning protection.
• Develop and maintain cable schedules, load lists, MCC and distribution board schedules, and termination schedules.
• Specify and schedule electrical equipment (MCCs, distribution boards, VFDs, soft starters, small power and lighting).
• Coordinate electrical design with instrumentation, control and automation scopes, including PLC/SCADA panel interfaces and P&IDs.
• Maintain design records and revision control to an auditable standard.
• Respond to design queries, incorporate review comments and client feedback through to issue.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Power, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 3–7 years of electrical design experience, preferably on water, wastewater or comparable infrastructure projects.
• Strong competence in electrical design fundamentals: SLDs, cable sizing, voltage drop, load and fault calculations, earthing and protection.
• Proficiency in electrical CAD and design tools.
• Fluent written and spoken English sufficient for producing design documentation and coordinating with a UK team.
• Reliable home‑working setup with stable internet and a suitable workstation.
• Methodical, detail‑oriented approach with good version‑control practices.
