Field Service Engineer

About the role

Rapiscan Systems is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide on‑site installation, maintenance, and technical support for its cargo inspection (CVI) equipment across key locations in Egypt, including the Sinai Regions, Port Said, Rafah and Suez. The role involves direct interaction with customers, ensuring equipment operates to the highest standards and delivering training on system use.

Key responsibilities

• Perform repair, maintenance, and overhaul of CVI cargo systems and subsystems.
• Conduct general maintenance, fitting, troubleshooting, and fault finding on static, gantry, and portal scanners.
• Respond to third‑line technical requests in writing and verbally, coordinating with site engineers, distributors, and customer representatives.
• Provide defect‑liability and post‑acceptance support for mobile and airport cargo equipment.
• Install CVI systems as part of an installation team and assist senior engineers on complex site projects.
• Prepare technical documentation, including service reports and engineering change requests, and input data into a functional database.
• Escalate quality or integrity issues promptly and comply with EHS policies.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required; relocation may be necessary.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Egypt and potentially abroad.
• Ability to work independently on customer sites and collaborate with internal teams.
• Strong communication skills for training customers and documenting service activities.

Required skills

• Installation and commissioning of CVI cargo inspection systems.
• Troubleshooting and fault‑finding on X‑ray based inspection equipment.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance of complex industrial hardware.
• Technical documentation and reporting.
• Use of simple functional databases for service data entry.
