Full Stack Data Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Data Engineer to join our cross‑functional data team. You will own the end‑to‑end data lifecycle, from ingestion and transformation to delivering insights through web applications, while participating in an on‑call rotation with a team primarily based in Mountain Time.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain modern ELT pipelines and data models using dbt and SQL.
• Develop backend services with Node.js, TypeScript, and GraphQL.
• Create user‑facing interfaces using React.
• Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform and provision cloud resources on AWS.
• Participate in weekly on‑call rotations (1 active week and 1 backup week per month).
• Collaborate asynchronously with a distributed team, ensuring overlap until at least 12:00 PM MT daily.

Required profile

• Collaborative engineer comfortable in a distributed, async‑first environment.
• Ability to own work from raw data to user‑facing product.
• Reliable and responsive during on‑call weeks with strong incident communication.
• Continuous learner who stays current with the modern data stack.

• ELT process design and implementation.
• dbt for data transformation and modeling.
• Advanced SQL (analytical and operational).
• Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Node.js and TypeScript for backend development.
• GraphQL API design.
• React for frontend development.
• Snowflake (preferred).
• AWS cloud services (preferred).
• Apache Airflow (preferred).
• Looker for data visualization (preferred).
• Python scripting for automation (preferred).
• GitHub for version control and collaboration.
