General Accountant

About the role

A retailer of home textiles and accessories, with six stores across Saudi Arabia, is looking for a General Accountant. The accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations by keeping accurate financial records, ensuring transactions are properly recorded and helping with reconciliations and financial reporting, in line with company policies, accounting standards and IFRS.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily transactions, prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
• Record supplier invoices, process supplier payments, record customer payments and monitor receivables.
• Reconcile store sales with POS reports, review cash deposits and investigate discrepancies.
• Record inventory transactions, reconcile physical stock with system records, support stock counts and calculate landed costs.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer and other balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly closing, prepare financial schedules and reports under IFRS.
• Review payroll records and ensure accurate payroll entries.
• Maintain VAT documentation and help prepare VAT reports in line with ZATCA regulations.
• Review expense claims for completeness and compliance, and coordinate with operations, warehouse and store teams on financial matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with Odoo ERP or similar accounting systems.
• Strong command of spoken and written English.
• Good understanding of IFRS and accounting principles.
