GL Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a GL Accountant to join Sumerge’s Finance team. You will be responsible for delivering accurate quantitative information on the company’s financial position, liquidity and cash flows while supporting business objectives through detailed analysis and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts by recording transactions accurately in the GL system.
• Prepare and post routine journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, prepayments and other adjustments.
• Conduct basic reconciliations of ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes and the preparation of standard financial statements.
• Support compliance and audit activities by providing required documentation and ensuring adherence to accounting policies.
• Prepare straightforward tax returns and filings under supervision.
• Participate in process‑improvement initiatives and collaborate with other departments to enhance financial operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to provide accurate financial information.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to liaise between Finance and functional areas and support forecasting, planning and profitability analysis.
