Health Safety Environment Officer

About the role

Hill International is looking for a seasoned Health Safety Environment (HSE) Officer to oversee safety performance on its projects in Egypt. The role involves ensuring strict adherence to HSE policies, driving continuous improvement in safety practices, and acting as a key liaison between project teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies. You will be responsible for creating a proactive safety culture that protects personnel, assets, and the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and regulations on site.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training for all personnel.
• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with HSE standards.
• Investigate incidents, near‑misses, and root‑cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and present HSE performance reports to senior management.
• Promote a positive safety culture across the project and encourage employee participation.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, documentation, and regulatory reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of proven HSE experience in construction or similar industries.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical abilities and a track record of successful incident investigations.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
