About the role

Saint Mary - Elias International School for Girls is looking for a passionate High School English Teacher to inspire students in Grades 10‑12. The role focuses on developing critical thinking, effective writing, and an appreciation of diverse literary voices within the American curriculum and Common Core State Standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver a comprehensive English Language Arts program for grades 10‑12.
• Teach a range of literary genres and guide students in advanced writing, research, and analysis.
• Create lesson plans and assessments aligned with CCSS and school learning objectives.
• Foster an inclusive, rigorous classroom environment that promotes collaboration and student voice.
• Prepare students for standardized assessments, university applications, and post‑secondary academic writing.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic and language needs.
• Integrate technology and media literacy to enhance engagement.
• Contribute to curriculum development and participate in school‑wide initiatives.
• Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in English, English Education, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of successful high school teaching experience, preferably with an American curriculum.
• Deep understanding of high school literacy standards and instructional best practices.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to inspire and build meaningful relationships with students.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
