HSE Officer – Safety & Environmental Management

About the role

HSE Officers serve as the backbone of workplace safety, ensuring health, safety and environmental standards are met across the site. They develop policies, conduct risk assessments, deliver training, investigate incidents and drive a safety-first culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and update health and safety policies in line with national and international regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, job safety analyses and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide safety inductions, regular drills and awareness campaigns for all employees.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, perform root-cause analysis and report to management and authorities.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA, ISO 45001, NEBOSH and local laws, and maintain audit documentation.
• Oversee environmental practices, ensuring ISO 14001 compliance and promoting sustainability initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in engineering, science or safety.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, OSHA and ISO 22000.
• 7–15 years of experience in health, safety and environment roles.
