Infrastructure SME – BCDR & DR Automation

About the role

The Infrastructure Subject Matter Expert will ensure that the organization’s IT infrastructure fully supports Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) objectives, with a strong emphasis on automation of failover and failback processes. Acting as the bridge between infrastructure and automation teams, the role drives resilience, scalability and seamless recovery across all layers.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate end‑to‑end infrastructure architecture for automated DR, covering network, security, compute, storage, virtualization, containers and data‑center components.
• Collaborate with the DR Automation team to align workflows, validate failover/failback scripts and develop pre‑failover validation procedures.
• Assess and confirm infrastructure‑level RTOs, capacity and performance for full and partial failover scenarios.
• Lead technical workshops, tabletop exercises and discovery sessions, providing domain expertise and recommendations.
• Oversee performance testing during and after DR events to ensure benchmarks and recovery objectives are met.
• Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements through proper logging, monitoring and documentation of DR activities.
• Coordinate with application, network, security, database and business stakeholders to manage dependencies and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing and operating enterprise‑scale infrastructure (network, compute, storage, virtualization, cloud).
• Hands‑on expertise with Disaster Recovery architectures and automation tools.
• Proven ability to work across cross‑functional teams and lead technical discussions.
• Strong understanding of compliance, audit readiness and traceability for DR processes.
