IT Network Operations Technician

About the role

We are looking for an IT Network Operations Technician to design, install and maintain robust computer networks and cabling infrastructure across new and existing facilities. The role involves hands‑on work with low‑voltage wiring, Wi‑Fi access points and telecommunications equipment to ensure reliable connectivity for the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design and install computer networks, including cabling, connections and Wi‑Fi access points.
• Run new cabling in new or existing buildings, terminate and test fiber optic, Cat 6, coaxial and other low‑voltage wiring.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot cable faults, patch cords, faceplates and CCTV installations.
• Set up telecommunications frames and provide PBX support in collaboration with vendors.
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance for hardware, IT rooms, air‑conditioning units and UPS systems.
• Lead and train junior technicians on new projects and best practices.
• Perform any additional tasks required to improve workflow within the scope of network operations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 0‑3 years of hands‑on experience for entry‑level technicians; 4 + years for senior‑level roles.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Termination of fiber optic, Cat 6, coaxial and other low‑voltage cables.
• Installation of network cables and Wi‑Fi access points.
• Telecommunications frame setup and PBX support.
• Cable testing, troubleshooting and CCTV installation.
• Preventive maintenance of hardware, UPS and air‑conditioning systems.
