Kong Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Kong Engineer to design, implement and manage secure, scalable API gateway solutions using Kong. The role will be based in New Cairo, Egypt and will work closely with development and operations teams to enable reliable API services.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain the Kong API Gateway platform.
• Develop and manage RESTful APIs and enterprise integrations.
• Ensure API security, scalability and high performance, applying standards such as OAuth2 and JWT.
• Support micro‑services based architecture and integration workflows.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise API gateway operations.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience in API engineering or middleware integration.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Kong API Gateway.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and micro‑services architecture.
• Experience with API security standards, including OAuth2 and JWT.
