Learning Support Assistant

About the role

Egypt Education Platform is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for the academic year 2026-2027 at GEMS British International School of Madinaty in Cairo. The school wants a collaborative and enthusiastic person to help students with unique learning needs in an inclusive environment. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Support students with diverse learning requirements through tailored educational strategies and interventions.
• Help develop and maintain Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students who need extra academic support.
• Work with teachers to adapt lessons and learning resources so they are accessible to all students.
• Monitor and report on student engagement and progress to inform teaching adjustments.
• Promote positive social interaction and help students develop communication skills during group activities.
• Stay up to date with developments in special needs education and contribute to a caring classroom atmosphere that values diversity and student well-being.

Required profile

• Degree or relevant qualification in Education, Special Education or a related field.
• Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar educational role is highly desirable.
• Understanding of various learning disabilities and effective support techniques.
• Excellent communication skills, working with students, educators and parents.
• Empathy, patience and a strong commitment to individual student needs.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, with strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
