Loss Prevention & Compliance Section Head

About the role

The Loss Prevention & Compliance Section Head will act as an independent verification function within DP World’s Port & Terminal business, ensuring that compliance data reflects actual conditions and driving effective corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as an independent verification function, ensuring compliance data reflects real conditions rather than self‑reported information.
• Track investigation submission and closure rates across the Port & Terminal business, escalating gaps to the P&T QHSE Head.
• Lead and coordinate internal audit programmes across Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental management systems and represent the organisation in accreditation audits.
• Own deployment and compliance monitoring of the In‑Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS) across the vehicle fleet and support rollout of engineering controls on high‑risk equipment.
• Drive hazard and near‑miss reporting, monitor Stop Work Authority usage and lead loss‑prevention initiatives to mitigate risk before incidents occur.

Required profile

• University degree in Science, Engineering, Agriculture or related field; postgraduate qualification in Safety, Quality or Compliance is preferred.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and Lead Auditor certification.
• 8‑10 years of experience in compliance, loss prevention, quality assurance or internal audit, with proven ability to verify operational data and close corrective actions.
• Strong command of English (oral and written) and proficiency in Arabic.

Required skills

• In‑Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS) deployment and monitoring.
• NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety.
• Environmental management systems.
• Lead Auditor certification.
• Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
