Loss Prevention Officer

About the role

The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for safeguarding the property, guests, and employees by maintaining a secure environment and responding promptly to incidents. This full‑time position requires vigilant patrols, monitoring of security systems, and effective communication during emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol all areas of the property and monitor CCTV, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and fire‑life safety systems.
• Lock and unlock property entrances as required and conduct daily physical hazard inspections.
• Respond to accidents, provide first aid/CPR, and coordinate with EMS when necessary.
• Assist guests and employees during emergencies, defuse disturbances, and escort unwelcome persons while maintaining order.
• Complete detailed incident reports, shift summaries, and loss‑prevention activity logs.
• Maintain confidentiality of all security reports and property information.
• Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview relevant parties.
• Follow company policies, safety training requirements, and maintain a professional appearance.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lb unassisted (75 lb with assistance).
• Strong observational skills and the ability to read and verify information in various formats.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with guests and staff.
• Physical fitness to respond quickly, run, or jog as situations demand.
