Lower Elementary Art Teacher

About the role

Westview International Language School is looking for a creative and passionate Lower Elementary Art Teacher to join its team for the next academic year, starting in August 2026. The teacher provides engaging art instruction to lower elementary students, fosters creativity and encourages artistic expression in a nurturing environment. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate art lessons that inspire creativity and develop artistic skills.
• Create a safe and encouraging classroom where students feel comfortable exploring art materials and techniques.
• Integrate art projects with broader curriculum topics to enhance overall learning.
• Assess and document student progress and give feedback to students and parents.
• Organize student art displays and take part in school events related to the arts.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support the holistic development of students.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts or a related field.
• Experience teaching art to lower elementary or early childhood students is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of childhood development and age-appropriate art teaching methods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and good classroom management.
• Creative, patient and enthusiastic about working with young learners.
• Ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to student safety and safeguarding policies; all candidates undergo background checks and reference verification.
