Medical Claims Officer

About the role

The Medical Claims Officer will oversee the control and monitoring of total medical expenditure for the Operation & Health programme in Cairo. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, the role ensures that all invoices, claims and payments from providers, suppliers and subcontractors are accurately captured, verified and recorded.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end medical claims review process and produce cost‑control reports.
• Review medical reports, requirements and documentation received from health providers.
• Analyse price lists and create provider comparisons during the contracting phase.
• Prepare final claim reports with comments, deductions and recommendations.
• Monitor the status of referrals, commitments and claims until project closure.
• Assist in preparing monthly spending and forecast reports.
• Maintain open communication channels with providers and ensure timely claim submissions.
• Support cost‑controlling activities, including forecasting and variation reporting.
• Track all medical cash payments made to beneficiaries.
• Participate in medical audits and improve documentation quality.

Required profile

• Experience in medical claims processing, health programme finance or related fields.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to coordinate closely with health teams, finance units and external providers.
• Willingness to undergo a Level 2 child safeguarding police check.
