About the role
The Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Officer will lead the implementation of psychosocial activities for Save the Children International’s programme in Aswan, Egypt. Working closely with the Project Manager and MHPSS technical assistance, the officer ensures high‑quality group and individual counselling services for refugee and migrant survivors, including children.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the delivery of MHPSS interventions, ensuring they meet programme standards and donor requirements.
- Monitor and assess the quality of psychosocial group activities and individual counselling sessions.
- Provide regular, structured supervision and technical support to psychologists and MHPSS facilitators.
- Coordinate with Hub Coordinators, Child Protection officers, and other project staff to ensure integrated service delivery.
- Maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, partners, and beneficiaries.
Required profile
- Experience in implementing MHPSS programmes in humanitarian or development settings.
- Ability to supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary psychosocial team.
- Familiarity with child safeguarding level 3 requirements and relevant vetting processes.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with partners and donors.
Required skills
- Knowledge of evidence‑based psychosocial support methodologies.
- Experience in group facilitation and individual counselling.
