OPI/VRI Medical Interpreter English-Arabic

About the role

This full‑time remote position involves providing over‑the‑phone (OPI) and video remote (VRI) medical interpretation between English and Arabic. You will support patients, families, and healthcare professionals by accurately conveying clinical information and facilitating informed consent.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver real‑time interpretation for medical consultations via phone and video platforms.
• Accurately translate diagnoses, treatment plans, and medical terminology.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA or equivalent standards.
• Document interpreting sessions as required and follow professional codes of conduct.
• Participate in training, quality‑assurance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong background in medical interpretation and terminology.
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic with excellent listening skills.
• Experience in simultaneous interpretation and translation of medical/administrative content.
• Familiarity with healthcare environments, patient‑centered communication, and confidentiality standards.
• Ability to work remotely with a stable internet connection and manage scheduling software.
• Previous experience as a medical interpreter or relevant certification is preferred.
• High cultural awareness, impartiality, and commitment to ethical practices.
