Pharmacist – Full‑time On‑site (Cairo)

About the role

Merqah Foundation is seeking a qualified Pharmacist to join its on‑site team in Cairo. This full‑time position focuses on safe medication dispensing, beneficiary counseling, and supporting the foundation’s health‑aid programs.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions and verify dosages.
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian pharmacy regulations and organizational policies.
• Counsel beneficiaries on proper medication use, potential side effects, and storage, adapting communication to varying literacy levels.
• Review medication histories, identify drug interactions or contraindications, and collaborate with healthcare providers to optimise treatment plans.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, monitor stock levels and expiration dates, organise and label medicines, and maintain secure storage.
• Maintain precise pharmacy records, support reporting for donations and medical‑aid programmes, and assist with health‑awareness outreach activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
• Current licence to practise as a Pharmacist in Egypt (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, dosage calculations and safe dispensing practices.
• Experience in community or hospital pharmacy; experience with NGOs or low‑resource settings is an advantage.
• Excellent patient‑counselling abilities, especially with diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate records, managing inventory and using basic digital pharmacy tools.
