About the role

The LSU Alexandria Police Department is seeking a Police Officer 3 to join its Uniform Patrol team. This advanced‑level position focuses on law enforcement, criminal investigations, emergency response, and crime‑prevention programs, with the possibility of serving as an assistant shift supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce state and local laws, respond to emergencies, and protect lives and property.
• Investigate serious crimes and accidents, collect evidence, make arrests, and testify in court.
• Participate in hazardous‑materials, crisis‑intervention, and large‑crowd‑control teams.
• Conduct intelligence‑gathering, surveillance, and selective‑enforcement operations.
• Assist in shift supervision and lead lower‑level officers when assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of law‑enforcement experience.
• Successful completion of the 2100 Protective Services Exam (Civil Service test).
• Advanced work level with general supervision from higher‑level police officials.
• Ability to serve as a lead worker on assigned shifts.
