Principal Software Architect

About the role

Geidea is seeking a Principal Software Architect to lead system design for its core backend and platform components. You will shape the architecture of distributed, high‑throughput payment services and ensure they are scalable, reliable, observable, secure, and maintainable across markets.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive system‑design practice for backend and platform services.
• Translate group architecture and technology strategy into concrete design standards, patterns, and guidelines.
• Maintain shared design templates, documentation standards, and guardrails for consistency across squads.
• Design, evolve, and document core system components from ideation through deployment and observability.
• Balance trade‑offs between scalability, reliability, performance, and delivery speed, escalating decisions when needed.
• Define reusable design patterns, performance benchmarks, and reference implementations aligned with group architecture.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, DevOps, and SRE teams to align system capabilities with business goals and regulatory constraints.
• Own internal and third‑party assessments, ensuring solutions meet engineering and enterprise‑architecture requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing distributed backend systems and platform components.
• Proven ability to create and enforce architecture standards and design guardrails.
• Strong collaboration skills with product, infrastructure, DevOps, and SRE stakeholders.
• Track record of delivering high‑throughput, low‑latency, fault‑tolerant payment or transactional platforms.
