Production Manager – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead the setup, development, and operation of a new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of production lines, from planning to hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Lead new facility setup and production line projects, including equipment selection, installation, testing, commissioning and operational hand‑over.
• Participate in feasibility studies, capacity planning, factory layout reviews and preparation of CAPEX and implementation schedules.
• Coordinate with engineering consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers and internal departments to ensure proper integration of production equipment.
• Oversee FAT/SAT, equipment startup, trial runs and ensure compliance with technical and operational requirements.
• Manage equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), process validation and production readiness with QA, Engineering, Maintenance and Validation teams.
• Establish SOPs, manpower plans and operational workflows to ensure efficient, reliable manufacturing.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, timelines, risks and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Lead production teams, ensure GMP compliance, quality standards, safety procedures and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and production operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Production, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
• Proven experience in new factory setup, production line installation, testing, commissioning and startup.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, equipment qualification and process validation.
• Experience reviewing production layouts, equipment specifications, technical drawings and utilities.
• Experience in medical devices, laboratory consumables or diagnostic reagent manufacturing is an advantage.
