Project Field Coordinator – Sustainable Tourism (Part‑time)

About the role

The Project Field Coordinator will support day‑to‑day implementation of the sustainable tourism component of the Egyptian Red Sea Initiative in Wadi El Gemal National Park. The role ensures effective coordination among partners, consultants, contractors and stakeholders to deliver reef‑positive tourism activities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily implementation of the sustainable tourism component, maintain workplans and follow up on actions, timelines and field missions.
• Assess and strengthen the capacity of local community organisations to manage tourism activities, including management systems, payment mechanisms and operational procedures.
• Work closely with the Wadi El Gemal National Park team to define their operational role, identify capacity needs and integrate staff into visitor management and conservation functions.
• Facilitate communication between design consultants, contractors, community partners and tourism businesses, track progress of site improvements and support inspections and handovers.
• Maintain regular engagement with local communities, tourism businesses and other partners, ensuring their roles are reflected in programme implementation.
• Coordinate pilot preparations and operationalisation of tourism activities, collect feedback, document grievances and support adjustments before scale‑up.
• Monitor progress, risks and decisions, keep programme records and provide regular updates to the ERSI Project Manager.
