Project Lead / Technical Lead - Safety-Critical Embedded Systems

About the role

eInfochips is looking for a Project Lead / Technical Lead to lead the development of safety-critical embedded products combining embedded software and hardware. The role coordinates technical activities, guides the engineering team and ensures development follows the V-model and functional safety standards such as IEC 61508 and ISO 26262. The position is based in Maadi Technology Park, Cairo, and is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical execution of embedded software and hardware projects and manage cross-functional teams (software, hardware, testing, safety, quality, system engineering).
• Ensure the V-model lifecycle: requirements, architecture, design, implementation, integration, verification and validation.
• Support requirements definition, review and traceability, and ensure compliance with IEC 61508 and/or ISO 26262.
• Coordinate safety activities: safety planning, hazard/risk analysis, safety requirements, safety concept, verification, validation and safety case preparation.
• Review architecture for safety, reliability, testability and maintainability; drive project planning, risk management and milestone delivery.
• Ensure documentation, configuration management, change management and requirements traceability; support technical and safety reviews.
• Interface with customers, stakeholders, suppliers and audit teams, and identify and mitigate project risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Strong experience in embedded systems product development and practical knowledge of the V-model.
• Awareness of functional safety (IEC 61508 and/or ISO 26262) and experience with requirements, architecture, verification, validation and traceability.
• Strong project management skills and ability to lead technical discussions and make balanced decisions.
• Preferred: experience in automotive, industrial automation, energy, medical devices, rail, aerospace or power electronics, and familiarity with safety work products such as HARA, FMEA, FMEDA and safety case.

Required skills

• Preferred: embedded C/C++, RTOS, microcontrollers, MISRA C, ASPICE, ISO 21434, IEC 62443, PMP, Scrum Master or Functional Safety Engineer certification.
• Preferred: tools for requirements management, issue tracking, version control, static analysis, testing and configuration management.
