Psychologist – Aswan Field Office

About the role

The Psychologist will deliver psychosocial support to unaccompanied and separated children (UASC), children at risk, and youth in Aswan under the supervision of the MHPSS Officer and Technical Advisor. The role is part of a one‑year Swiss Development Corporation‑funded project supporting the Sudanese community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counselling sessions for UASC, at‑risk children and youth.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and tailor session topics to identified needs.
• Organise awareness and support groups for children, families and parents, including positive‑parenting sessions.
• Refer cases with acute psychological needs to specialised services.
• Collaborate with child protection, education and community‑integration activities, including capacity‑building for teachers and community leaders.
• Document interventions and contribute to case management and reporting.

Required profile

• Degree in Psychology or a related mental‑health field.
• Experience delivering MHPSS interventions to children and youth in humanitarian settings.
• Familiarity with child safeguarding and protection protocols.
• Ability to work in field environments and travel between project sites.
• Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
