Purchasing Controller (6-Month Temporary Role)

About the role

Ingram Micro, a global technology distributor, is hiring a Purchasing Controller for a temporary 6-month role in Cairo. The position ensures the smooth flow of products by managing purchasing activities, keeping inventory accurate and supporting strong supplier relationships, working closely with sales, finance, logistics and vendor partners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end purchase order lifecycle, from timely order placement and tracking to fulfillment.
• Monitor inventory levels, demand trends and purchasing requirements to keep stock available.
• Coordinate with vendors, distributors and internal stakeholders on shipment, pricing, invoicing and supply issues.
• Analyze purchasing and inventory data to find cost savings, better service levels and risk mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, purchasing controls and operational procedures.
• Support process improvement initiatives and help train and guide junior team members.

Required profile

• Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory control or vendor management in a distribution, technology or fast-paced commercial setting.
• Highly organized, able to handle several priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Uses data and business insight to recommend improvements.
• Confident working with cross-functional teams and building relationships with suppliers.
