Python Developer – Remote (AI Model Testing)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Python developer to join our remote team and help train next‑generation AI systems. You will work on building and refining backend services that feed real‑world data into AI models, without needing prior AI research experience – your domain expertise is what matters.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise REST and GraphQL endpoints for scalable APIs.
• Implement robust data validation, error handling and security best practices in backend services.
• Plan and execute database migrations, performance tuning and schema changes.
• Test AI‑powered models in the Cursor environment, reporting incidents, bugs and screenshots.
• Participate in intensive 4‑day testing bursts to evaluate model impact on coding workflows.
• Collaborate with the research team via Slack, sharing findings and improvement ideas.
• Complete post‑burst surveys delivering insights on model performance and developer experience.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience using Python.
• Strong track record building and maintaining RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Deep understanding of API security, data validation and error handling.
• Hands‑on experience with database migrations, schema design and performance optimisation.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools, preferably Cursor.
• Excellent written communication for incident and bug reporting.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, confidential, collaborative remote environment.
