Quality Assurance Manager – Agriculture & Food Safety

About the role

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Egast’s quality assurance strategy across farms and packing houses. This senior role ensures full compliance with food safety and quality standards throughout production, packing and export operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and refine the company’s Quality Assurance strategy for farms and packing houses.
• Ensure compliance with international certification standards such as Global G.A.P., GRASP, HACCP, ISO 22000, BRCGS and SMETA.
• Lead internal audits and prepare the organization for external audits by certification bodies and international customers.
• Oversee Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and meet export market requirements.
• Collaborate with Production, Farm Management, Packing House and Supply Chain teams to achieve the highest quality standards.
• Monitor quality KPIs, prepare management reports and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and develop the Quality Assurance team.
• Manage non‑conformities, customer complaints and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Science or a related field.
• 10‑15 years of experience in Quality Assurance within the agricultural sector, including 5‑8 years in a managerial role.
• Proven experience with citrus, potatoes and other agricultural crops for export, with strong knowledge of European, GCC and other international market requirements.
• In‑depth understanding of food safety systems, quality management standards and international customer compliance.
• Experience managing certification processes and external audits.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Strong leadership, analytical, planning and decision‑making abilities.
