Refugee Support Coordinator

About the role

The Refugee Support Coordinator will work within UNRWA’s Representative Office in Cairo, supporting Palestinian refugees from Syria (PRS) by guiding them through the online registration process, informing them of available assistance, and coordinating with multiple partners to address their needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist PRS in completing online registration, creating e‑accounts and obtaining Family Registration Cards.
• Inform refugees about eligible services and support them throughout their stay in Egypt.
• Monitor political, social, economic and cultural developments affecting refugee protection and report significant changes.
• Support implementation and monitoring of assistance agreements in collaboration with the External Relations and Communication Department and UNHCR.
• Act as focal point for partners such as IOM, UNHCR, WFP, ERC and the Palestinian Embassy, ensuring timely coordination and responses.
• Participate in inter‑agency groups, identify service providers and contribute to policy discussions.
• Prepare statistics, reports and correspondence for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain detailed records of refugees, their issues and referrals, and manage the office hotline and communication channels (SMS, WhatsApp, etc.).

Required profile

• Highly committed personnel with a strong interest in humanitarian work.
• Good understanding of the refugee context in Egypt and the broader region.
• Ability to work closely with UN agencies, embassies and NGOs.
• Strong organizational and reporting skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
