Remote Rust Engineer – Contract – Up to $30/hr

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Rust Engineer to work remotely on a contract basis, reviewing and improving AI‑generated Rust code. You will help ensure code correctness, memory safety, and idiomatic Rust practices across backend, CLI, and systems‑programming projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI‑generated Rust code and technical explanations for correctness, safety, and concurrency handling.
• Evaluate backend, CLI, and systems‑programming solutions involving ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, async execution, traits, generics, and error handling.
• Identify and correct errors in ownership models, borrowing semantics, lifetime management, and unsafe code.
• Analyze implementations for performance, readability, and maintainability.
• Generate high‑quality reference solutions, code reviews, and architectural explanations.
• Compare and rank multiple AI‑generated responses based on technical correctness and safety.
• Fact‑check technical claims and evaluate async Rust workflows using Tokio, Actix, and related frameworks.
• Support AI model improvement through annotation, code evaluation, and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong professional experience with Rust in backend systems, CLI tools, or systems‑programming environments.
• Deep understanding of Rust ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, concurrency safety, and memory‑management principles.
• Excellent English writing skills (minimum C1 proficiency) and ability to explain complex systems‑programming concepts clearly.
• Significant experience using AI coding assistants or LLMs for programming, debugging, or code review.
