Room Service Coordinator

About the role

Kempinski is looking for a Room Service Coordinator in Cairo to serve food and beverages to guests in the assigned outlet. The role provides courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service consistent with hotel and Kempinski standards, encouraging sales and maximising guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with waiters/waitresses and minibar attendants, and display excellent conversation and selling skills.
• Take orders by telephone and post them correctly in the POS system so the service and kitchen departments are informed.
• Report to duty on time, wearing the correct uniform, clean and well pressed, with polished shoes and a nametag, in line with the hotel's dress code and grooming standards.
• Know all hotel services and products, and explain and upsell items while offering alternatives.
• Monitor operating supplies and equipment, reduce spoilage and wastage, and keep the outlet and surroundings clean and organised.
• Perform opening and closing procedures, handle guest enquiries courteously, and report guest complaints and feedback to supervisors with follow-up.
• Operate the POS system according to the assigned training level and follow hotel policies on fire, hygiene, health and safety.
• Work well with colleagues, attend staff meetings and trainings, assist in scheduled inventories and carry out other reasonable duties assigned by the Department Head.
• Understand the department's monthly profit and loss statement, lead the service and act as a role model and guardian of the outlet's service standards.

Required profile

• Egyptian nationality.
• High school or university graduate.
• One year of experience in a customer service position in a 5-star hotel.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
