School Social Worker

About the role

Scholars' International Language School is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join its team for the next academic year, starting in August 2026. The post is based on site in the Non-Teaching department and supports the emotional, social and academic well-being of students, working closely with families, teachers and external agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students facing social, emotional or behavioural challenges.
• Assess students' needs and develop tailored intervention plans.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to create an inclusive and supportive school environment.
• Engage with parents and families to strengthen support for students.
• Coordinate with external agencies and professionals to advocate for student needs and resources.
• Run training workshops for staff on social-emotional learning and support strategies.
• Maintain detailed records and reports while keeping confidentiality and complying with school policy.
• Take part in school meetings and help shape policies and practices that promote student welfare.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience working with children and families in a school or community setting.
• Strong understanding of child development, mental health issues and social services.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and use culturally responsive practices.
• Relevant certification or licensure in social work is an advantage.
