About the role

Westview International Language School is looking for an experienced and visionary Science Teacher/Head of Department (HOD) for Academic Year 26-27. The role combines teaching with department leadership, aiming to drive academic excellence and build a collaborative, innovative science learning environment. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality science lessons across grade levels, helping students understand scientific concepts.
• Lead and manage the science department: set goals, develop the curriculum and monitor teaching effectiveness.
• Mentor science teachers, support professional development and foster best teaching practices.
• Coordinate planning and implementation of the science curriculum in line with school standards.
• Analyze student performance data to inform instruction and improve outcomes.
• Manage departmental resources, budgets and equipment.
• Work with school leadership and other departments, and engage parents and the wider community.
• Keep up with educational trends and scientific advances through continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Science Education, a relevant science field or equivalent; a master's degree is an advantage.
• Proven teaching experience, preferably 3+ years, including some in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Teaching certification or professional qualifications relevant to the role preferred.
