Senior Accountant – Food Industry

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead cost, inventory, and financial reporting functions within our food production business. The role ensures accurate accounting, compliance, and insightful analysis to support operational profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate standard vs. actual costs for ingredients, packaging, and labor; identify cost variances.
• Maintain and review Bills of Materials (BOMs) for recipes to guarantee production order accuracy.
• Oversee stock valuation, track raw material movements, manage spoilage/write‑offs, and lead physical inventory counts.
• Drive the financial close process, including journal entries, provisions, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash‑flow reports, and analyze margins and food‑cost percentages.
• Ensure accounting records comply with GAAP/IFRS and local food‑industry regulations.
• Prepare and file sales tax, VAT, and industry‑specific tax returns.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, providing clean work papers and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 5–10 years of general accounting experience.
• At least 2 years of direct experience in FMCG, food production or F&B operations.
