Senior API Integration Specialist

About the role

The Senior API Integration Specialist will design, develop, and document RESTful and SOAP‑based APIs using IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower. You will ensure secure, scalable integration solutions across enterprise environments and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define API contracts and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and document REST and SOAP APIs with IBM API Connect and DataPower.
• Implement security protocols such as OAuth2, mTLS, JWT, and SSL/TLS.
• Create and customize API policies (XSLT, GatewayScript) for complex transformations and routing.
• Manage API deployments across multiple environments and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform root‑cause analysis of integration failures using DataPower probes and API Connect analytics.
• Collaborate with backend developers, security architects, and product owners to define contracts and governance standards.
• Support containerized API Connect deployments on OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Monitor API performance, reliability, and security, applying best‑practice governance and versioning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in API development, integration, and management.
• Hands‑on experience with IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower Gateway.
• Experience in banking, financial services, telecommunications or large‑scale enterprise integration is a plus.
• Proven ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
