Senior Backend Engineer - Feed Squad

About the role

Thndr is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Feed Squad, the team responsible for delivering market‑data feeds across Egypt, the UAE, the US and upcoming markets. You will design, build and operate high‑throughput, low‑latency services that power live prices, charts and alerts for millions of investors.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement feed services that ingest data from multiple providers and expose a unified, real‑time market data stream.
• Ensure sub‑millisecond latency and high availability for hundreds of thousands of price updates per second.
• Build robust fail‑over mechanisms to keep the feed running during provider outages or infrastructure disruptions.
• Scale the system to handle 100,000+ assets while maintaining data correctness.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate the feed into downstream trading and analytics components.

Required profile

• Proven experience building large‑scale, low‑latency backend systems.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, reliability engineering and real‑time data processing.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues under pressure.
• Passion for fintech and delivering critical infrastructure that directly impacts users’ financial decisions.
