Senior Civil Technical Office Engineer

About the role

Alkarmadevelopments is seeking a Senior Civil Technical Office Engineer to lead the technical office functions for its construction projects. The role involves coordinating design reviews, managing shop drawings, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Study and review preliminary designs, working drawings, specifications and cost estimates.
• Prepare and issue shop drawings for allocated tasks.
• Develop time schedules and monitor actual progress against plans.
• Prepare follow‑up reports and ensure conformity with the schedule.
• Check technical details and drawings for correct field implementation.
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly site reports.
• Prepare work requisitions, material submittals and follow up on approvals.
• Review products, analyse materials and assess suitability for projects.
• Communicate with contractors, suppliers, consultants and the main consultant.
• Prepare and verify invoices, including sub‑contractor billing and cost breakdowns.
• Ensure site documentation and materials are available as needed.
• Perform inspections and prepare contract‑related documentation.
• Carry out any additional duties required to meet business needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar technical office role, preferably in real estate or construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, methods and local building codes.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Excellent project management, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
