Senior Full Stack Engineer – IoT Platform

About the role

We are building the AHOY IoT platform end‑to‑end, from device telemetry ingestion to a real‑time web dashboard. As a Senior Full Stack Engineer you will own complete vertical slices of the product, shaping both backend services and frontend experiences while acting as the technical lead for architecture and key technology decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement multi‑tenant core services such as device registration, authentication, alert engines, notifications and device‑shadow storage.
• Develop the MQTT ingestion pipeline (EMQX broker), normalize telemetry and persist data to time‑series storage and Aurora PostgreSQL with row‑level security.
• Create versioned REST APIs (OpenAPI) and real‑time WebSocket delivery for high‑concurrency dashboard updates.
• Build the web application using Next.js and TypeScript, including monitoring dashboards, onboarding wizards and multi‑tenant admin portals.
• Render live telemetry and time‑series visualisations (charts, gauges, maps) without lag or memory leaks.
• Define and maintain AWS infrastructure (UAE region) as code with Terraform, and operate CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions.
• Manage core infrastructure components such as Kafka, Redis and InfluxDB, and design horizontal scaling strategies for hundreds of thousands of devices.
• Document architecture decisions, runbooks and ensure a minimum four‑hour daily overlap with UAE working hours.

Required profile

• 5–9 years of full‑stack engineering experience shipping production applications.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver both high‑quality frontend and robust backend code.
• Self‑starter who can work autonomously, produce proactive documentation and collaborate across time zones.
