Senior FullStack Developer (Octopus)

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full‑Stack Engineer to join our Octopus product team. The role involves designing, building and maintaining scalable backend services while collaborating closely with frontend engineers to deliver secure, high‑performance applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop backend applications using PHP and Laravel, including micro‑services and HMVC architectures.
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs, and when needed implement GraphQL and WebSocket interfaces.
• Build automation and integration services with Node.js and Python.
• Manage MySQL and MongoDB databases, optimise queries, and implement caching with Redis and messaging with RabbitMQ.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Docker and Docker‑Compose, and monitor system health.
• Implement security controls, conduct vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance with OWASP MASVS and SOC 2.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews and produce technical documentation.
• Leverage AI‑based tools to improve development efficiency and operational workflows.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven expertise in PHP and Laravel for building large‑scale backend systems.
• Strong background in database design and optimisation (MySQL, MongoDB).
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Docker‑Compose and Jenkins for CI/CD.
• Solid understanding of security best practices and compliance standards.
• Ability to work independently and guide less‑experienced team members.
