Senior Highways Engineer

About the role

Egis, an international consulting, construction engineering and mobility services firm operating in 100 countries, is hiring a Senior Highways Engineer in Cairo. The role provides engineering expertise for multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects of varying scale and complexity, preferably in the Middle East region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client management, design reviews and progress meetings.
• Design intersections and interchanges, and deliver design solutions including applications for departures and relaxations from standards, securing all required approvals and consents.
• Prepare comprehensive design reports, drawings and specifications, and collaborate with drafting and documentation teams.
• Apply highway design guidelines of the Middle East, AASHTO and DMRB, and help develop internal standards.
• Check designs against QA/QC procedures and mentor junior engineers.
• Extract quantities from software, support BOQs, and provide technical support during construction.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
• 10-12 years of experience in highway design.
• Proven experience designing highway and expressway projects in the Middle East, USA or UK.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Required skills

• Civil 3D, MX Road, Infraworks, BIM, Open Roads and AutoCAD.
• Experience with CDE environments (ACC, ProjectWise) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of interface disciplines such as drainage, hydrology, lighting and structures.
