Senior Materials Planner – SCP SP

About the role

The Senior Materials Planner will lead the weekly Make planning cycle, generate and release material plans for specific product categories, and ensure alignment with the Bern Make planning organisation. The role also oversees the monthly 24‑month rolling horizon plan, monitors supply exceptions, and drives continuous improvement across planning processes.

Key responsibilities

• Create and share the monthly MRP plan based on production needs and inventory levels.
• Validate production and material plans during weekly plan review meetings.
• Monitor medium‑ and long‑term material availability using supplier feedback.
• Track purchase‑order conversions, release POs to suppliers, and assess supplier performance.
• Manage working capital by identifying excesses or shortages and projecting inventory for RMPM.
• Produce weekly provision snapshots for Finance and develop waste‑reduction projections.
• Identify process gaps, articulate system issues to SMEs, and lead continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in material or supply planning.
• University degree, preferably in engineering or logistics.
• Experience in FMCG environments is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven ability to collaborate with multicultural, geographically dispersed teams.

• JDA (by JDA) planning system.

• Microsoft Office suite.
