Senior Procurement Engineer - Construction Projects

About the role

Innovo Group is looking for a Senior Procurement Engineer based in Cairo to manage and execute procurement for construction projects. The role ensures that materials, equipment, subcontracted works and services are sourced on time and at good value, in line with project requirements, specifications, approved budgets, quality standards and company procurement policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run procurement plans for assigned construction projects with Project Management, Technical, Commercial, Planning and Site teams.
• Review requirements, specifications, BOQs, drawings, material submittals and procurement schedules to identify needs and priorities.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) to approved and potential suppliers and subcontractors.
• Evaluate quotations and prepare bid comparison sheets covering cost, technical compliance, delivery schedules, payment terms, warranties and other conditions.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors and coordinate with Technical and Commercial teams on purchase orders, subcontract agreements, variations and claims.
• Process purchase orders and procurement documentation, track approvals, manufacturing, inspection, shipment and delivery, and monitor market conditions and supplier capacity.
• Mitigate procurement delays and risks, keep supplier databases updated, and evaluate supplier performance.
• Support cost-saving and value-engineering initiatives, maintain procurement records, and prepare regular procurement status reports.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, Engineering, Logistics and Site teams, mentor junior engineers, and ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethical standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or a related discipline.
• 4-6 years of procurement experience, preferably in construction or contracting.
• Strong experience in construction materials, equipment, subcontracting and project-based procurement.
• Good knowledge of local and international suppliers and construction material markets.
