Senior Python Backend Engineer – AWS AgentCore & Multi‑Agent Integration

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Python Backend Engineer to design, build, and integrate high‑performance backend services that enable secure, scalable agent‑to‑agent communication on AWS AgentCore platforms. You will work within the Core Architecture Team to deliver reusable services for a large digital engineering enterprise platform supporting IoT, eCommerce, and digital marketing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python backend services using the AWS AgentCore SDK.
• Implement Agent‑to‑Agent (A2A) communication, registration, discovery, and lifecycle management via AWS AgentCore Runtime and Gateway.
• Build and expose Agent Card definitions and .well‑known/agent.json endpoints.
• Develop asynchronous communication using JSON‑RPC 2.0, Server‑Sent Events (SSE), webhooks, and push notifications.
• Create scalable REST APIs that ensure secure, reliable agent interaction.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, security, and performance of distributed services.
• Collaborate with AI, platform, DevOps, and security teams to support enterprise multi‑agent integration.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, test, and optimise services in production and produce technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing Python backend systems.
• Strong background in asynchronous, event‑driven architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience designing APIs and integrating complex agent‑based solutions.
