Senior Sales Engineer – Automation & Drives

About the role

The Senior Sales Engineer will drive profitable growth in Datco's industrial automation and drives business. You will combine technical sales, account development and business development to deliver complete solutions that meet customers' technical, operational and commercial needs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full sales lifecycle from prospecting to order closure and post‑order follow‑up.
• Develop and maintain relationships with industrial end users, OEMs, system integrators and panel builders in the assigned territory.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand existing accounts by understanding customer applications and investment priorities.
• Work with Presales to create technically sound, commercially competitive proposals and present solutions to customers.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, build a healthy pipeline and provide regular sales forecasts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation or Control Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in industrial automation, drives, electrical systems or technical sales.
• Proven ability to manage the complete sales cycle and negotiate contracts.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within the Delta region.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Variable Speed Drives (VSD/VFD) and Soft Starters.
• Experience with motors, MCC panels and electrical distribution solutions.
• Proficiency in PLCs, HMIs and motion‑control technologies.
• Ability to read single‑line diagrams, control drawings and automation system architecture.
• Effective customer‑facing, presentation and negotiation capabilities.
