Senior Software Validation Engineer

About the role

Avelabs (an Arrow Company), an automotive software engineering services provider, is looking for a Senior Software Validation Engineer in Cairo to join its engineering team. The role covers testing automotive applications, from planning and executing test cases to reporting defects and supporting the testing strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and identify gaps needed to carry out testing
• Plan, develop and execute test cases in the field and on bench, then check that software behaviour matches the requirements
• Report findings and bugs to the defect management system and major issues to customers
• Communicate project status to project and R&D management and resolve conflicts
• Perform test automation and contribute to defining the testing strategy
• Review testing artifacts and change requests, and estimate effort
• Design and deploy test benches, follow configuration management and maintain quality standards
• Train colleagues, handle customer and stakeholder communications and suggest improvements

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in automotive validation
• University degree in Computer, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering
• Strong understanding of software integration testing and validation, embedded systems and microcontrollers
• Requirements and testing management experience (e.g. DOORS/JIRA)
• Excellent written and spoken English; German is a plus

• C and Python programming
• Debugging and analytical skills
• Test bench development and NI/dSPACE bench experience are a plus
• ISTQB certification is a plus
