Senior Tax Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join a leading multinational construction company in New Cairo. The role involves managing all tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with Egyptian tax regulations, and supporting the finance team during month‑end and year‑end closing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns and related reports in line with Egyptian tax laws.
• Ensure timely submission of VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax, and corporate income tax declarations and payments.
• Review tax invoices, supporting documents, and accounting records for compliance.
• Support tax audits, inspections, and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
• Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on the company.
• Reconcile tax accounts and maintain accurate tax transaction records.
• Coordinate with internal departments, external advisors, and auditors as needed.
• Identify tax risks and propose appropriate mitigation solutions.
• Maintain organized tax documentation and assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of taxation experience, preferably in a multinational construction or engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian tax laws and regulations.
• Proven experience handling VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax and corporate income tax.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent English communication, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
