About the role

Westview International Language School is looking for a passionate Social Studies Teacher for the academic year 2026-2027. The teacher will help students understand social sciences, history, geography and civic education through engaging, student-centred lessons that spark critical thinking and inquiry. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Social Studies lesson plans aligned with the school's curriculum.
• Create an inclusive, interactive classroom where students discuss history, geography, civics and social issues.
• Use varied teaching strategies and resources to meet different learning styles and abilities.
• Assess student progress regularly and give constructive feedback.
• Promote extracurricular activities related to social studies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate the curriculum and share good practice.
• Keep parents informed about student development and classroom activities.
• Take part in professional development to stay up to date on educational trends.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Studies, History or a related field.
• Proven secondary-level Social Studies teaching experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of social studies content, including history, geography and civics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build a positive learning environment and engage students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Commitment to continuous professional growth.
