Software Engineer, POWER

About the role

Valeo is seeking a Software Engineer for its Power division to develop safety‑critical embedded software for high‑voltage automotive applications. You will work on microcontroller‑based solutions that support inverters, DC‑DC converters, battery‑management and thermal‑management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Debug complex hardware/software issues using AI‑assisted and traditional techniques.
• Design, implement and test robust Embedded C code for BSW, HAL and low‑level drivers (ADC, PWM, SPI, CAN, LIN).
• Translate control laws for inverters, converters, BMS, thermal management and smart actuators into efficient software.
• Apply generative and agentic AI tools to accelerate development and automate routine tasks.
• Ensure compliance with AUTOSAR, ISO 26262 functional safety and ISO 21434 cybersecurity standards.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and thermal engineers to optimise system constraints.
• Maintain MISRA‑C code quality, documentation and testing within an Agile/Scrum framework.
• Provide regular status reports on progress, risks and technical challenges.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in embedded software development (including internships or academic projects).
• Strong interest and hands‑on experience with Generative AI, Agentic AI and large language model fundamentals.

Required skills

• Embedded C programming.

• Experience with ADC, PWM, SPI, CAN, LIN interfaces.
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture.
